Every year, millions of tons of scrap are used by foundries, refineries, and other producers. To recycle them properly it is essential to separate different types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from each other. It is also important to separate the latter from other recyclable materials such as paper and plastic.
Our company processes mixed metals and shredded materials, such as printers, home appliances, cars and other machinery. We usually work with unbroken and shredded scrap. Mixed materials are shredded by a hammer mill and in most cases contain, among other things, lead, zinc, zamak, brass, copper, steel, impure aluminum, titanium, cobalt and other precious materials. We pay particular attention to iron and metals. Recycling these elements is important both because of the difficulty in finding new materials and because the production of modern metals often requires the combined use of already existing metals.
Each material contained in the mixed scrap has its specific weight, also called density. Density allows the differentiation of materials through the flotation phase.
